Hello everyone,
Here's a link to some research into the use of common concrete blocks
(CMU and AAC [1,2]) as a building block (no pun intended) for outdoor
enclosures for common off-the-shelf router boards:

It's work in progress, but I hope the next prototype will be something
which will actually be deployable. Overall I expect it to be a solid
option for long lasting installations, even if not as simple/cheap as
originally envisioned. Stay tuned.
